At IHEARU Mental Health, the primary therapeutic approach utilized by our Providers is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. The main objective of CBT is to modify the thinking and behavior patterns that underlie a person’s difficulties, resulting in an improvement in their emotional well-being. This type of therapy is effective for addressing a wide variety of concerns in individuals' lives. By targeting a person’s cognitive processes (their thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes), CBT aims to modify their behavior and attitudes, ultimately helping them to overcome emotional challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has a significant benefit as it is generally brief, requiring only five to ten months to address most emotional issues. Usually, our patients attend one weekly session, with each meeting lasting 30-50 minutes, as determined by the clinician. Throughout these sessions, the therapist and patient collaborate to identify the underlying problems and establish innovative approaches to addressing their needs.
